What is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial Release uses gentle pressure held over time on an area freeing restrictions, which releases pain and increasing movement. The fascia is a layer of connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, bone, blood vessel, nerve, and organ in the body. Normal fascia stretches and moves easily. Scars, injury and inflammation can cause the fascia to become tight. Areas of tightness increase pressure and can cause a wide range of symptoms.
